The Essence of Decorating

By: SG

Turn on the television and one of the new consciousnesses is ‘decorating’. Decorating on a Budget, Divine Design, Decorating Cents, Room by Room, Design on a Dime, etc. These shows demonstrate that you don’t have to be wealthy to make your home environment beautiful; decorating can be accomplished on any budget.

But in a time when humanity is experiencing so much hurt and pain, a home needs to be a place that is not only beautiful and comfortable but a place that gets us in touch with and reflects our true essence Whether you know it or not, your home confirms a great deal about your inner self.

Most people enter society each day wearing a mask and remove it once they arrive home. The objective, trick the general public… Nobody should know our worries, sadness, anger, humiliation, insecurity, financial woes. Folks have become skilled at being deceptive – mastered the art… A person can be experiencing great sadness yet go to work put together, in high spirits, given others the false impression that life is grand. Only to arrive home to a house that has the curtains pulled shut, darkness, useless items, a cluster of empty liquor bottles, or filth with a few photos of happier times resting on the fireplace dusty and cracked; camouflaged in sadness.

This holiday season visit, a coworker, a family member, or a friend. Pay close attention to the energy you sense when you enter their home. Does the energy of the home reflect contentment and a well balanced life? Or does it make you feel sad, awkward, or do you feel a need to be well-behaved, cautious… Take a look around the house, does the environment match the person you see and interact with?

We can hide from the outside world but the core of our true essence always lurks somewhere in our home.

Encourage that coworker, family member, or friend to begin ‘interior decorating’ (inner beautify) their soul – persuade him/her to reach out to a counselor or a life coach to facilitate the healing of the inner self and by design; their home will validate the divine wealth that radiates from a well-adjusted and happy spirit.
